Steinbeis visits the world market leader Kärcher

“Together we make a Powerful Impact towards a Clean World.” by Kärcher
Last Thursday, the Master of Business Engineering (MBE) students of the Steinbeis School of Management and Technology went on an excursion to the renowned company Kärcher in Winnenden near Stuttgart. This visit, which took place as part of the lecture “Change Management & Corporate Transformation” under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jan Roy Edlund, offered the students the opportunity to combine their theoretical knowledge with practical experience. This gave them an exciting insight into the world of a leading global company (around 3.3 billion turnover, 150 subsidiaries, 16,000 employees). A field report by Stefanie Daxer, MBE student at the School of Management and Technology.

“All in all, the excursion to Kärcher was an extremely successful and instructive day.”
[…] The technical highlight was the tour of the modern plastics production hall, where the housings of Kärcher appliances are manufactured on injection molding and swivel machines. The morning ended with a visit to the “Kärcher showroom”. There, the students once again had the opportunity to see the entire range of Kärcher products – exhibited in a hall – and to test them themselves, i.e. “hands-on”. The participants particularly enjoyed this practical experience.

Our special thanks go to Lilli Spitzer and Lea Hägele from HR Marketing for the perfect, professional organization and for making us feel so welcome and guiding us through the day with such care. We would also like to thank Melanie Wiens for her exciting and passionate guided tour, Dr. Jan-Marek Pfau for his highly competent, inspiring and likeable presentation on change management and Jonas Frey, who masterfully guided our teams through the creative task in the Explore Lab.
We would also like to thank Prof. Jan Roy Edlund and his office manager, Kristin James, who initiated and made this excursion possible in cooperation with Kärcher. Thank you all for the valuable and practical insight into the exciting world of the Kärcher universe! Many thanks and “Take KÄR”.
